Default 2001 Sebring Blows speakers

My wife has a 2001 sebring convertible with a infinity 4 disc stereo. I have put at least 4 pairs of speakers in it and the back ones are blown now. She does like to crank it, especially when the top is down. I have tried Kenwood 400watt (4 ohm) speakers, Blafplunk or however you spell it. Is the infinity a different ohm and could that be my problem? Or is she cranking it to high and the distorsion blows them. Do I need higher watt speakers or maybe a amp to get a cleaner signal, a friend told me to put a subwoofer in it to take away the bass from the other speakers, but I would need a crossover for that wouldn't I? Sorry this is so long but I am tired of buying speakers. I am looking at 700 watt pioneer speakers or 300 watt infinity ( and I noticed the infinity are 2 ohm)
