Exclamation 2001 Chrysler Sebring limited convertible Engine.

I am looking for a 2001 Chrysler sebring limited convertible 2.7l vin U engine.
Where could i acquire one cheap, since i don't have money to spend on a new one or a mechanic. How much am i looking to spend to buy one approximately?
Took the car to a mechanic he said i had a chipped rod bearing and it would be best to just buy a new engine, s this true, and why?
I know some about fixing cars but not an expert and would like someones opinion on this. Also if anyone lives in Washington, USA and could help personally would appreciate it. Thanks!

Cant help with locating an engine U will just need to look at places in toy area unless u want to pay freight to get it to u.

As for cost same thing depends on miles and condition.

Yes cheaper to install a diff one because a 2.7 is expensive to rebuild

I understand, in your opinion what size of an engine would fit in my car i just want it to run so the cheaper the better, and if i use a different engine would i have to modify other things for proper fit?
