TNtech,
Thank you for the reply. I think that I have the basic background to read wiring diagrams. I was going to change the fuel pump filter in order to cross out potential root causes in addition that it is time to change it. So, I am ready to take this challenge and start troubleshooting this issue.

Thank you again.

To update my post, I have ruled out the starter, solenoid and neutral safety switch. I believe the problem is either with the anti-theft or ignition switch. Either the switch isn't reading the chip on the key and sending the signal to disable the anti-theft or the anti-theft is defective. I'm leaning toward the switch as it's an intermittent problem. Does that sound like the most logical source?

Usually, when the anti theft system is doing its thing, it will shut down the engine after it runs for a couple of seconds.

Sometimes, the system can't read the key if there are a lot of keys on the key ring or a speed pass or something like that present.

Doubtful about the switch. Flip the PDC over and see if any of those wires look like they've been hot or melted. Recheck you solenoid wire at the starter.

Let's go back here. Is it Cranking and not starting or is it not doing anything at all? I see no way a p1282 would lead in the direction of a fuel filter.

OK, We found the problem. Checked that there was current being delivered to starter when turning ignition switch. Current was being delivered but starter was not turning at all. It was ignition coil on the starter. Changed starter and car is running fine. It took about two hours, one case beer, XL pizza and wings.
