I recently purchased a 2016 200S as stated. It was supposed to come with 19 inch wheels/tires but the previous owner switched them to 17 inch. While they don't look too bad, I'd rather have the correct ones on there as that is what is on the tag. I did a quick search and I believe there are a couple options. Anyone have knowledge of what they are supposed to look like with out going to a dealer.
Also I was going to post in the wanted section but honestly, there is no new thread button (maybe I don't have enough posts, dunno).
Anyway I would love to get a set without having to remortgage my house to get them , would even consider a trade.
Thanks, Bob
Try to Google images for a "Chrysler 200S" and see what comes up. Search eBay for a set of wheels/tires. You might get lucky and find a set from somebody that was trading up. The 200S was somewhat of a premium model so don't expect to find tons of them out there. If you get lucky and find a set, you can cut your losses by selling what you have now.
Most say as pictured, but I believe they were not black but brushed alum or what ever thay call that. $242, Eeekkk. Gonna be way over a grand with shipping.
Then I still have to order the center caps
Well back in November (2022) we purchased this 2016 200S. Wow what a great little car we thought.
We immediately had issues with the transmission and shortly after the front end. Sway bar linkage etc. That was replaced under warranty and enough complaining about the transmission led to a replacement of the valve body. That did solve the shifting issue but the vehicle always had a slip from reverse to drive, especially in cold weather. Then while out running some errands one day, smoke from under the hood. The radiator went, another warranty but Chrysler couldn't get a radiator to the dealer for better than 2 weeks. I had to drive a rental during that time and we happened to have a nasty storm then. After that repair I had to make numerous calls and struggle to get Chrysler to cover the entire rental. My point, it wasn't the dealers fault and not my fault YOU couldn't get the parts to them for the repair within 5 days (that's all they cover for rental). They finally caved and we got most of that money back. Days later another puddle in my driveway, this time oil. Something about the oil filter adapter, another warranty repair. All this time now I am suggesting to my wife we get rid of the vehicle.
Well the final straw; her coming home last weekend and saying she lost the brakes on the 200. Turned out to be a rear brake hose but the point is neither of us trust the vehicle any longer. We traded it in the other day for another Chrysler 300S. It is truly a shame because it is a great car, nicely designed, comfortable, great in the snow for handling but the unreliability of it just turned us away. I will truly miss the car.
So obviously I no longer am looking for the factory wheels as stated above. I do hope the next owner has better luck than we did, we fixed most everything for them. Now I know what my Dad used to mean when he would say you're getting someone else's headaches. :-(
