Default Delayed start issue - 2007 Chrysler Sebring 2.4l

Recently the car has an issue where I turn the key and nothing happens for a second or two then it starts, no crank no effort to try and start then it starts fine the problem seems to be getting worse.

Any ideas what's going on?

What is the age and condition of the battery? Quick test, the battery voltage ( engine not running for at least 20 minutes) should be above 12 volts, 12.4+ is preferred. A weak/failing battery will cause a low voltage condition and the tipm may not immediately see enough battery voltage to kick the starter.

I thought the same thing, battery is at 12.5v and when it does start turning over it doesn't "feel" weak.

I have not looked at the battery, it seems to be a production getting to it.

The same problem as you lasted for more than a year, sometimes up and down, and finally there was no response at all. The repair shop found that the anti-theft control module was faulty. Replace the problem and completely solve the problem. Hope it helps you.

That's great to hear, is it as simple as plug and play or did it need to be programed? I'm think about buying a used one on ebay.

My problem seems to have resolved itself, it must be at least a month sine it's acted up.

It seems that you can't buy second-hand used ones, you need a new one, you need to reprogram and match the keys

Kites, how much did it cost to have that issue resolved?

Thank you both!
