Electrical Problem??
1999 Chrysler Sebring Convertible, JXI - 2.4L, new fuel pump installed and the car started immediately. The next day after driving a short distance and turning the car off, it started right up but ran just a few minutes and died, smelled like it was burning diesel. Managed to get it back to my house but after that would not start at all. It's now been to 2 different mechanics. The first one had it two months and couldn't figure out what was wrong, finally came to the conclusion that maybe the fuel pump was bad out of the box...however, he never got around to taking it off so I had it towed to the 2nd mechanic, who says it's almost as if there's a security issue causing it to shut off. He's at least been able to get it to crank but after 5 minutes it cuts off. He indicated that it seems to be losing voltage from the fuel pump relay to the fuel pump itself. Said it could be anywhere, distributor, computer, bad wiring. His option at this point is to begin a tedious (expensive) process of chasing down each wire....any ideas?

They probably pinched a wire when installing the fuel pump. That's where they need to start looking. That will involve removing the fuel tank again.
It's not a security system issue. The security system shuts the engine down after about 2 seconds, not five minutes. Since the problem arose after working on the fuel pump, that's the most likely source of the problem. Start there.
Come back and report how it comes out.
