Default Factory Installed Keyless Entry?

I'm at the end of my rope. I gave the dealer my VIN to see if my car came factory equipped with the keyless remote function. I already have electric locks, but really miss the keyless feature after having it on my ex-Jeep. Over the phone the dealer told me that I did indeed have the factory installed keyless capability. I bought 2 Daimler remotes for the car and took them to the same dealer to have them programmed. After trying to program them for 45 minutes, they came back & told me that I did not have the module for keyless entry. What exactly happened here? Is this a module that could've been removed? And if so, how do I go about getting it replaced?

There are alot of wires going to the driver's door that aren't shown on any wiring diagram in the Haynes manual. Which, I might add, had alot of stuff geared towards the coupe, but not the 4 dr sedan. Can anyone shed any light on this? I bought an aftermarket kit from JC Whitney, but without a better wiring diagram, we may never get the keyless remotes to work. Thanks.
