Intermitten PO344(Cam Position Sensor)
#11
I finally took car to a mechanic for the PO344 intermitten dtc. He checked the cam position sensor and said it was ok. He also checked the wiring harness and said that was ok. He said according to his book it said the next thing it could be was the ecm. The ecm was replaced and the car is still doing the same thing, intermitten PO344. It spit and sputters when you try to accelarate when the light is on, but not all the time. Sometimes the dtc is on but the car run fine. Please help.

I would like to be able to take it to a pro, but my daughter can not afford the economic, her unemployed, and has 4 consecutive months. I have a Haynes manual # 25040, but it does not contain detailed electrical schematics or the engine of such tests.

PO 344 Cam Position Sensor Intermitten
After going thru all the problems on the previous posts I located a ex-Chrysler Dealer Mechanic who does work on the side. I took him the car and explained to him what the problem (PO344) was and the ways tried to resolve the issue. He asked me if the Cranshaft Position Sensor had ever been replaced, I said no. He said that is probably your problem because when you replace those sensors you need to replace both of them. He did and the problem was solved 2 weeks ago. Lesson learned!
