Oil Pressure Light
I have a 2008 Sebring Touring convertible with 160,000 mi. I've changed the oil every 500 mi since the car was new. I know that some versions of the 2.7 have a sludge issue, but I was told by a mechanic that mine did not
Recently the oil pressure light briefly came on a couple of times, then when I restarted the car, went back off. The oil level was a little low, but not much. I was told by the guy who works on my other car that this is the beginning of the end, that the oil pump is "getting weak" and that to replace it would be prohibitively expensive. I'm thinkin' it's most likely the pressure switch, but I thought I'd run it by the forum just to see what folks might have to say.

The switch is a known problem. There's a "how to" posted over on the Chrysler Sebring Convertible Club website for changing it if you think you want to do it yourself. Do that first, it's much cheaper than the oil pump and might solve the problem.
"The oil level was a little low..." If you started cold, and then switched the engine off right away while still cold, you might not even be low on oil. Turning off the engine when still cold will result in leaving a fair amount of oil in the upper reaches of the engine. It takes a while to run back down when the oil is cold.
