Default Trunk release

I have a 2010 Sebring convertible-great car!. Neither the inside trunk release button or the button on the remote opens the trunk (key works fine). I replaced the release mechanism-no change. I do not see a fuse listing in the owners manual for the trunk release. It's got to be an electrical problem. Any suggestions?
Thanks

Suggest inspecting the decklid wiring harness at the right hinge. The harness is flexed whenever the decklid is opened/closed and wires have been found broken in this area. The sheath will need to be opened to examine the wires. Note the insulation may be intact but an odd bend or a tug on the wires will reveal the break.

To repair, suggest adding in a length of wire rather than splicing the ends together.
