Question 300 with no computer

My 2005 300 has died and it is going to cost well over my budget to get it running again. So it is off to the junkyard unless my grandson wants it. He can't afford the repairs either, so my question is: Can the computer(s) be removed or disconnected completely, and then drive it as if it were a car from the 60's BC (Before Computers)? Basically using just the frame, body and mechanical parts, and the engine. Or if not even that, can we pull the engine and swap in an engine from the pre-computer era?

If it can be done, can it be done economically?

No, the car won't run without computers. However, there are computer swap services on the web that will sell you a refurbished computer for about $200 or so.
