300S Wouldn't Start, Wouldn't Turn Off, Wipers Went Ham
Hello everyone!
So I had a rather fun experiences yesterday. I tried to start my car (2012 300S) by remote before leaving my house. When I got to my car it wasn't running, and the message said "remote start aborted". When I went to start it from inside the car, it was telling me the keys were not in the car (I forget the exact wording). I check the FOB for battery issues by opening the trunk, locking and unlocking the doors, and everything was working, except starting the car. I walked away from the car and came back, hoping to "reset" the detection for the key, and it didn't help.
Eventually I got the car to display another message, this time stating that the car was not in park (it was). I also tried to start it using the end of the key FOB and that is when everything went wild.
The car didn't start, but it went into "run" mode. The center panel was cycling through message but they were barely illuminated to see them. The wipers also turned on, but the switch for them was off. At this point the doors wouldn't lock or unlock via the key FOB or the door buttons. Same with the trunk. Wiper fluid wouldn't work either, not the radio, or basically anything. I could not get the car out of this mode. The car just sat like this until the battery died.
So that is my story. Car wouldn't start, then I couldn't get it out of "run" mode, then the wipers went ham.
Has anyone ever hear of this? I find a few related issues as I search around (still looking), but nothing specific and rarely does what I find have to do with a push button start and/or a shifter that doesn't actually lock into set positions.
Thanks in advance for any help or any pushes in the right direction. Hopefully I supplied enough information.

What is the age and condition of the battery? Chrysler's do not tolerate low voltages and will exhibit all sorts of seemingly random behavior. The battery should read 12.4+ volts. 12.2 indicates your battery needs attention. Below 12.2 is a failing battery.
Sorry for the delay in updating this thread. So since the battery died during this ordeal, I charged it the next day and everything is back to normal. I am concerned why it happened though, as this is the first time I experienced that issue, and do not think I let the car sit idle for any longer than I have in the past. I will have to test the battery though and see if there is an issue with it. It is 2 years old, but who knows.
Thanks ggoose for the help, and tarhealcracker for the nudge to update the thread!
