Default Does the oil drain plug have a "special" washer?

I need to know if the oil drain plug on my 2023 Chrysler 300 3.6L V6 Pentastar has a washer that needs to be replaced on every oil change or not. Some say no, others say it has a "crush washer" that should/must be replaced.

My second question is the size of the oil drain plug. I read somewhere that it is 13mm but I watched a video and the guy was clearly using a 17mm wrench. The only reason that would matter is if the diameter of the threaded portion of the oil drain plug would need a different washer (if the washer needs to be replaced at all).

I've been doing my own oil changes for many years and never had these questions but I'd like to know what I need BEFORE I "pull the plug", so to speak.

I have not yet been under the car and I'd like to have the answer before I jack it up and take the splash panel off and certainly before I take the drain plug out.

The OE plug has a 13mm head with a rubber gasket integral to the plug.

The use of a 17mm wrench suggests to me that the plug has been replaced and is likely an oversized plug needed after the OE plug was over-tightened and stripped the oil pan threads.

Thank you ggoose. I had time to go to the dealer before you provided your answer and your answer matches the dealer's parts department and tech exactly.

Thank you !
