Drain Plug Issue
I decided to do my own oil change.
Problem is, the drain plug is not coming off. It seems that there is some glue or other material that the dealer put in.
I'll take it to the dealer and tell them about it. but what are my option? If they damaged the drain plug, will they have to replace oil pan?

Well, Loctite tends to be red or blue in colour. I think there is another colour out there, but don't know for sure.
Loctite isn't hard to break free, but I can't think of a reason WHY anyone would use it on a drain bolt...
The problem is that a Oil Pan tends to be made of thin material. I don't think you really want to risk damaging the Oil Pan.
I would take it back to the place that did the last oil change (was it the dealer?), let them "get started" then ask then what the heck was one the drain pan bolt. And to perhaps not to use the same crap again on the bolt.
But like I said, wait till they have started to drain the old oil first. Then ask then what they had put on the bolt, and why...
Cheers

i have a 2005 pacifica and had one hell of a time getting the drain plug off. me and my father could not break it free i ended up Very carefully having to cut of the flang on it and using a big pair of pliers to break it loose took about 45 minutes to get it off
Congratulations. You did a fine job. You can buy a replacement plug (I assume you are talking about the crankcase drain) at your local parts store. Next time, don't take it in for an oil change wherever it was that you got the oil changed the last time because the ape in the pit there has no concept of proper torque for tightening the drain plug. It should be in the range of about 30 foot-pounds, not the 130 foot-pounds that the idiot put on it.
I have a 2004 Pacifica and had the same problem with the oil pan drain plug. We always took it to Chrysler dealers for oil changes. The second dealer I went to said the other dealer must have stripped it. They ask me if they should replace the oil pan or try a self tapping plug. I told the to try the plug. It started leaking the next day. I went back to the dealer and told them to order a new oil pan. They said the cost for the pan and installation would be $100.00. They said it would be covered under warranty. The car was purchased used in 2005. I probably paid for the their deductable. Every time I take it in now I tell them to use a torque wrench.
