Default Cranks, but no start.

After a heavy rain storm soaked my fuse box on the drivers side under the dash again, tail lights came on by themselves. Yes, I keep my sunroof drains cleaned out, but sometimes it still happens. I disconnected the battery and removed the kick panel and put a heated fan blowing on it all night long. Next day I hooked the battery back up and started the truck, everything was back to normal, no check engine lights. Shut the truck off and went inside for a couple of hours and then took it to the store. Came back out to leave and cranks over, but no start. Check engine light is on and red lighting bolt is displayed. Removed the neg battery terminal and went back into the store for about 5 min. Reconnected battery terminal and same thing. Got it towed home and began the diagnostics. No codes stored in computer and all fuses are good. Removed the fuse box that keeps getting wet and found corrosion on several connection pins and opened it up and found corrosion on the printed circuit board. I found a used one from a 08 Dodge Durango without a sunroof that is in great condition and yes it is the same part number. Cleaned all the multi pin connectors with contact cleaner and blew them out with compressed air. Reinstalled the non-corroded fuse box and no change. Not getting any clicking from the ASD relay or the fuel pump relay. Anyone have any idea what might be causing this?

Hmmm.. both battery terminals are connected tight?

Is the battery definitely good? Autozone or Advanced do free testing.. (it's possible the battery may have drained due to a short from the circuit board)

Did you check the alternator?

I had the lightning bolt on my dash at around 165K, brought it to autozone who tested it, and said I needed to replace the alternator, which solved the problem.

Battery tested and fully charged. Terminals clean and tight. I am not sure if a bad alternator would keep it from starting. It spins over great, no fuel or spark. No security light on the instrument panel is illuminated. My scanner shows the SKIM module has approved the key fob. I was looking around under the hood for loose or broken wires and on the way back to the open drivers door the alarm started going off and the key remote would not turn it off. I put the key in the ignition and turned the truck on, but alarm would not cancel, I tried again and turned the key too far into the start mode and the truck started up and ran fine, but alarm was still going off. After about 30 seconds the alarm shut off and the only light on the dash was the check engine light. Got the scanner out and it showed no codes stored. I let the truck run for about 15 minuets and then shut it off. I let it sit 30 minuets and went to restart it and it went back to spinning but no start.

when you disconnected the battery you erased any codes that were in all computers. you will need a professional scanner to see what's going on with it.

Yes, I am aware that disconnecting the battery erases the codes. I would think after running for 15 min. it would reset any dtc's it found. As soon as the weather clears, I am going to break out the power probe and start chasing wires. Starting with the ASD circuit. Thanks.

Got the power probe out and had my son cycle the ignition switch a couple of times and I am getting power to the fuel pump, but no fuel pressure. After I stopped cursing like a sailor, I started draining the fuel tank in preparation of dropping the tank. Replaced the pump and she fired right up, but was running in limp mode. I was finally able to pull a code of p0123, which pointed to the throttle body. After some investigation I found the plug was loose on the throttle body. Somehow someone broke off the nipple on the throttle body itself, so there was nothing for the plug to latch on to. Found a way to zip tie the plug on tightly and cleared the code. She is running like new. I normally don't believe in coincidences, but I believe I just got unlucky with several things that were unrelated to the fuse box getting wet. Thanks for the replies and stay warm.
