Question Newbie with an Issue

Hey gang, I am new here. I recently purchased a 2008 Limited with the Hemi. Love the vehicle. I do have a concern about some clips on the dash, right in front of the driver the dash closest to the windshield it is raising up, I can smack it down and it will stay for a while, but does that sound like clips or something else? Is it easy to access clips under that section of the dash?

It sounds like you're describing the defroster grille. It sounds like you need to remove it first to see if anything's broken (clips, etc.). To remove it:
  1. Using a trim stick C-4755 or equivalent, remove the drivers side A-pillar trim.
  2. Open the trim covers in the passenger side A-pillar grab handle and remove the bolts.
  3. Remove the right A-pillar trim panel.
  4. Using a trim stick C-4755 or equivalent, remove the instrument panel defroster grille.

I think I have the tools needed. I just don't know if I am comfortable trying to remove these pieces. I may have to suck up my fears. Just don't know enough about the vehicle yet as I haven't even had it for a week. Is this a pretty simple project? Should it take about an hour or two?

Well I did it. I took off the pillar cover on the driver's side unclipped the defrost dash. Nothing broken but the one clip was a bit loose. I adjusted it and put it all back together. It has been three days now and all is good. Thanks for the info, it helped a lot.
