Default 04 Cruise Control Issues

The Cruise Control hasn't worked since we bought this car in January. I push the cruise button, and the word "cruise" shows on the dash. I push set, and "set" shows on the dash, but I let off the throttle and cruise hasn't activated. I push cruise off and the words go away, but trying to turn it back on, now the words don't illuminate on the dash...but a while later it will repeat, or after car has been shut off and restarted. I don't know where to start looking. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Thank You in Advance,,
Eric

There are 3 ground wire connections on the inside of the unibody structure just below the battery tray.
One or more of these with a bad/dirty connection can cause a plethora of electrical gremlins.
If you haven't checked these recently I would strongly recommend it.
Be sure to check all of the wires going into the ring terminals, to make sure none of the wires have broken strands or heavy corrosion.
Hope that helps!

You're welcome!
I can't guarantee that will work, but it's definitely a cheap and somewhat easy way to fix a lot of issues.
Remember to disconnect the negative battery terminal first and I don't recommend doing this with a hot engine.
It can be reached from the top, but I found it easier to reach by taking off the left front tire and working from within the wheel well.
But that's just me. Lol

Should be pretty easy for me, I'm an industrial electrician/engineer, I just don't have a schematic to this car so I had no idea where to start.

I've got a '06 Pac wiring diagram; 446 pages and about 26 meg bytes. Should anything in particular be needed please let me know. Unfortunately experience/knowledge of the location of the known trouble spots, such as those grounds located under battery, is not included in diagram..

I'll keep that in mind as a possibility. I know Chrysler had a lot of electrical changes right around 05-06 though, when they started using the TIPM system so it may not be much help. But if I need it and to see if it may be similar I'll let you know, thank you.
