Default Alternator whining noise

Whining noise from alternator on my 2006 Pacifica. Alternator checked good at local parts house test. Sometimes immediate. Other times takes a ramp upward to a loud whine. Was only tested at a 12A output. On the car, the B+ on the alternator is showing 60+ Amps. At the battery positive post, I see 60+ on the alternator wire, ~22A going to load and ~40A going to the battery. Is this normal? Is my battery being overcharged? Why is my alternator making noise? It's rated for about 145A I believe. Does the car have an electrical short causing high draw when running? Everything else seems to be OK except battery will run down after a few days of non-use. Draw with the car off is about 0.6A.

a noise would be from a bearing not the electronics of the alternator charging system. a draw is a loss or use of power that would be amps. and how are you measuring amps with out it being inline of the battery?
