I am looking at a 2008 Pac near Pensacola, FL. I live in Birmingham, AL. I am thinking about buying it. I ran the VIN through autocheck and decodethis. Decodethis says that the Pac is AWD. I spoke to the owners. They say that they believe the car is FWD. How accurate is decodethis?

 

For what it is worth, I have an '05 Limited. My factory manual shows that the 5th VIN character denotes front or all wheel drive. F for AWD (mine has that) or M for FWD.

I guess it would have been too obvious if the F had meant FWD?

 

The VIN of the car that I am looking at has a M as the 5th character but the title says AWD. Thanks for the information.
