Default How do I add a subwoofer to my 07?

I bought a Signature series AWD 2007 Pac. It's quite a nice ride! It has almost every bell and whistle EXCEPT a subwoofer. It came with the base radio which isn't bad but the speakers can't handle the low frequencies...quite a bit of distortion at higher volumes. I was wondering if I can go to the dealer and add it in or add a subwoofer myself? Is there an under the seat subwoofer? Any suggestions?

Thanks,

I am working on that issue right now in my 07. This is what I know.
You need to replace the factory amp with the one that came with the Interezzmo package. Your amp doesn't have the sub out. If you buy all new from Chry your looking about $500+ just in parts. I am trying to find everything salvage.
Under seat would be tight. I was looking at the Infinity Basslink. It would fit but take up precious cargo. Thinking of buying a salvage sub and enclosure, replacing the sub with a better one and using my own external amp.

Good luck.

Sorry for the etremely delayed response...

To recap...I have a 07 Pac with the base audio package (no subwoofer).

Where would the "04685909AD" subwoofer go? Is it located in the back? Is the Pac wired (harnesses) already for the new amp and sub?

I just bought the boss600 amplified subwoofer. I plan to place it under the driver's seat. It seems like it will fit. Of course, the issue now is to get power to the amp as well as an audio signal. It accepts both line-level and line out signals.

Does anyone have thoughts on whether to splice into the speaker line or does the head unit have line level audio out. I don't think it needs to bea dedicated sub out since the amplified probably has an active crossover...but I'm not sure since I just ordered it.

Thanks.

Chrysler tech,

I'm new to the forumbut I've started this post. I got a lot of good info from the following post:
https://www.chryslerforum.com/m_13373/tm.htm

But I still have some basic questions about the Pac audio Iam hoping you, or anyone else, could help me with. These are probably dumb questions but I have no idea how to find the amp. So I apologize in advance if these questions have already been addressed in the forum.

Where is the amp for the 07' Pacifica located? I tried searching the posts but can't find where it is. Also, do you have the wiring diagrams for the amp? Would you happen to have any photos? Also, how to disassemble/reassemble panels to get to the amp?

I purchased a powered subwoofer and I want to install it myself.

Thanks!

if you have the base system you might just have the 6 chanell 120 watt amp
if you have a dash speaker then you might have the 7 chanell amp with 200 watt
if you have all 8 speakers which is what you need to get the sub that is the 8 chanell 385 watts intermezzo system.i bought everything for my touring from junk yard.the base models may not be prewired for it but the touring is prewired so it is just plug and play.the amplifiers are located under the storage bin behind the third row seat.you'd have to take the storage bin to get to it.ohh if you have the base model you won't have the opening for the sub.you might have the space underneath the rear panel but it'll be hard to get to.i did my upgrade while back and i am very happy with it.it sounds much much better than my 200 watt system.good luck to you guys on your upgrade.

Okay, I figured out the following:

1. My 200 Watt AMP is located in the rear right of the Pac. It's under the accessory panel which can be removed after peeling off the liner and unscrewing 5 bolts. But I didn't need to mess with the amp placement. I just wanted to find the line-level output of the amp.
2. The Boss600 is really an "under the seat" amplified subwoofer but it works quite well located at the rear of the Pac. It takes line level inputs. It fills in the bass quite well thereby lowering my bass level so the door speakers don't rattle.
3. I bought in-line splices from Home Depot (red ones, because the wires are high guage) and tapped into the left and right rear speakers.
4. Right now, I'm using the cig-plug at the rear of the Pac. It's switched so the amp is off when I turn off the car. I haven't noticed any popping.
5. The Boss600 fits (snuggly) into the rear accessory hatch so it's hidden.

The Boss600 is $100 at Buy.com so it was less expensive and less labor putting this together. I'm thrilled by the newly added bass to round out my sound system. I recommend the Boss600 if you don't mind slicing into the rear left and right speakers. I'll have to figure out my final power soln but the cig-plug works for the short-term.

Thanks kkodal78 for your input. I had already purchased the Boss600 but your way is also a nice solution, too.

Thanks to Chrysler Tech for sending me the wiring color codes as well!
