My memory is better with some pics. First did a sunroof leak and windshield test with waterproof tape. Finally went deeper into it drilling out the spot welds. Look closely at each pic. Before long the leak was soon stopped and still is. Good luck, hope these pics show up ok. *BW*

Drill out the spot welds

Excellent sealer

Look thru hole to see AC components where water can go after drain tube is removed. On your floor.

Be really sure drain tube is sealed when the two ears lock into place so water can drain inside the tube

This is exactly what I was looking for, this is where water in entering my vehicle. Did you seal the seam as well as the hole under that black thing?

What is that black plastic thing inside?

The last pic is how we found things inside after we drilled out the spot welds to lift the cowl cover for access. Note the leaves and still some standing water. You asked "What is that black plastic thing inside?" the open ended box is where outside air comes inside for the AC/heating system. Just below it is the problem at least was for us. Look at the pic closely before. The two notches in the metal help hold the down plastic tube into place once the ears on the tube click in to lock. Can not find the final pic of what we did but be sure to clean well anywhere you use sealer to give it a better chance to work. Try not to over use sealant causing water to not be able to easily drain. We sealed where ever we thought it may be a problem. The down drain tube not fitting tightly enough seems to be the main suspect. A little sealer onto it before it was clicked into place and also slightly on top by reaching in worked for us. Hope this works for you and others and please let us know. *BW*

One last thing, how did you seal the cowl after everything was put back?

Oh yes, we put a thin bit of silicone sealer all along where the spot welds were separated and used heavy sheet metal screws after the two pieces were held together by a couple of C clamps and some of the torn weld holes were drilled for a better fit for the screws. Idea was to seal it and also make it tight together again for strength. We are so happy to say NO Leaks Inside since doing this. Hope this can help others. Regards. *BW*
