The EVIC uses a vacuum fluorescent display. It is serviced with the cluster.

I have an 04 and mine went out around 42K. We don't have the extended warranty and the dealer said cost is $995 for the cluster. Not sure what installation will cost.

I called Chrysler customer service and they basically said since it is out of warranty I am out of luck. I raised a little h*ll because what engineer decided to integrate the entire cluster like that? And besides, what kind of quality is it when that goes out at only 42K?

I will never buy a Chrysler again I can tell you that...

Ummmm, that is why you buy an extended warrenty. Believe me Chrysler is not the only one to use this type of cluster. Check out the cost of a similar one in a GM,or Toyota. My god man EVERY carmaker has something can fail long before we think it should. Do you service the car with the dealer in question?
