Program cars
Hello Folks, new guy here.Been checking out Pacificas lately, and really dont know that much about them.Which are the more desireable models and which ones to avoid.I am looking at the 07 Program cars, and have come across several nice ones like a 07 Touring edition in AWD,3rd row seating and leather upholstery. It has 16,500 miles, they are asking $19,989.Has there been any problems with the AWD? FWD would be fine with me,we dont get much of nasty white stuff in west texas.Has the 4.0 engine been pretty reliable and get decent mileage? I appreciate all advice. Thanks H.H.

RE: Program cars
HeyHH,
My 2005 (the one you see in the posts with the oil indicator light problem) was a "program car" (Hertz Rental) and except for these recent developments, it has been a great ride. Handling, ride and power train have have smooth and responsive. The only other car I have owned that rode more comfortablywas my Lincoln Town car (which I loved). The Pacifica is very comfortable on road trips. Leather, great sound system and all the electric toys. Not great at higher speed cornering and gas mileage is not wonderful (17 & 21 mpg). Only regret is nosun roof. If you have the chance, compare the handling and feel of the AWD withone that is FWD. I tried both and liked the FWDway better. Hope that helps. Good luck. BTW locally there have been lots of Pacifca program cars put out recently. Prices are appreciably lower ($16-17K) than what they are proposing to you. I am in the NE so regional pricing may apply but shop around........
