Greetings all, and happy New Year! I've been having issues with the multifunction switch, same as many of you. Went the suggested route and got a new one from Napa and installed easily.
Now here's where things went kind of pear-shaped. Most functions are OK, headlites, foglites, turn signals work and click, high beams all work normally again. However, and here's where things get strange, the turn signals will continue to work with the engine off and keys out of ignition, and if I switch on the 4-way flasher button, the relay (clicker) just screams and blows the 15 amp fuse in the engine bay fuse box.
Got a new flasher relay, thinking the old one might have gone bad, but got same result. Is there some other relay that could be stuck or shorted somewhere?
I'm a grizzled old veteran when it comes to wrenchin' on cars and bikes, but this thing has me scratching my beard in puzzlement.
Anybody got a hint??
