Default 2.8CRD starts then stalls from cold!!!

Hi Guys,

As the title says, my 2.8 CRD will start from cold but then stalls after about 30 seconds. Then it is a real struggle to get it started again. When it does get going, everything seems perfectly normal.

Any suggestions will be much appreciated

Thank you for your reply.

It's a 2007 model registered in 2008 with 100,000 miles on her.

She's been serviced on the button and just had timing belt changed last week.

Regards

Are you saying that you can start it from cold, but it never runs more than 30 seconds? And it will restart after you turn the ignition off for a while?

If so then it sounds a bit like a failed crank shaft position sensor. There should be a fault code if that is the case.
