If you are anywhere near tfb, he will do a proper 'deep' code[s] read for you.

There are around 30 failures that can cause a van to go into limp mode. The in out sensors are just two - a cheap easy shot in the dark but a shot in the dark. You need the codes.

I came across an 05 2.8 that goes into limp mode almost any / every journey, every day in winter and almost never, maybe once every 6 weeks in the summer.

Now that's conundrum, he still has it to this day, no one ever figured out why. If you have any ideas I'll pass them on.

I'm in Cambridgeshire, but I travel to London most evenings so if you are anywhere near that I can read the codes.

As others have said there are quite a lot of things that will cause limp mode.

You could also try doing the "key dance" trick - search these forums for it.

Ricahrd

Do the 'key dance'
- its a different car but the same sequence

Put your hand on the key / on and then off and then on and then off and then on and leave it on

SO, 5 clicks - on-off-on-off-on and leave on

Even the best of UK garages won't have a 'deep reader' for this vehicle, only the main stealer @ £100 a pop.

NOTE : #23 for the 'marriage' of the (1) Sentry Key Immobilizer Module and the (2) 'codes Key Dance'

A DRBIII is the only tool that will read and do everything, StarScan and WiTech wont talk to these.
A few independents do have these, but not many. My X431 will read everything (or at least I haven't found a module it wont read) but no programming functions.

Richard

My UK 2000 LX 3.3 Grand Voyager also went into limp mode....for me it turned out to be a failed solenoid (external module on bellhousing)....

Hope that gives you another avenue of thought....
