Question 2000 Voyager - Odometer light

I wonder if anybody can help with this seemingly minor issue. The odometer light on our 2000 voyager does not go off, even when the ignition is off and the door is closed, I think it may be draining the battery. What could be causing this?:
Thanks for any assistance with this matter:

Two things to try before swapping parts. (1) Remove the IOD fuse in the PDC (fuse box) for 2-3 minutes. This will reset the CCD data bus that controls the odo display. (2) Press and hold the trip/reset buttons on the instrument cluster then turn the ign switch to on (not start). Within a few seconds the display will start a diagnostic check (release the bottons) and eventually the odo will cycle through all 10 digits. This may reset the odo display.
