Default Odometer light staying on after ignition off...

Having resolved my starting issue recently with your help new battery required as old one had a dead cell plus a new glow plug. Thankyou all for your help with this!

I have noticed that the odometer light/mileage reading stays on even after ignition off, the key is taken out and car locked up. Could this be draining the battery and why would this stay on in the first place?

Any ideas gratefully received!

If you haven't yet disconnect the negative battery cable for 5 minutes to reset the data bus.
