Default 2001 Voyager 2.5TD Power Loss Problem

Hi,
I realy hope that someone can help me with this.
I have a 2001 Chrysler Voyager 2.5TD (last 4 vin digits 7356)

This has been an excellent vehicle with no unusual faults at all, up until about 2 weeks ago, then it started to intermittently lose power, this only happened, at first, once or twice per journey and only appeared to happen at higher speeds (70kmph plus)
But recentley it has started to happen more often and at any speed.
The vehicle loses power for only a second or two, then is back to normal, it appears to be fine when idleing and only loses power when driving.

Any ideas as to what this could be or what I could do to find out the fault?

Many thanks

you have to check fuell supply and turbine operation.

fuell: fuell filter, low pressure pump, high pressure pump and injectors.
turbo: wastegate valve and pressure hose to high pressure pump.

my first choice: wastegate.
that and pressure hose should be easy and cheap to test.
after that it gets to fuell supply, and that's when it gets expensive.

Ok thanks "I wonder" I will start with that.
Where is the wastegate valve?

Hi,
I just read my post again and feel that I maybe have not described the fault properly, when I say that the vehicle loses power, I mean that it actualy cuts out for a second or two, and has no power at all, then a second or two later comes back to life.

well, that's something else.

you have to tell me; do you think that the engine would actually shut down if you would press the clutch?

it can be a whole variety of possible problems.

very possible: fuel system is leaking air somewhere
low pressure pump. pump itself or just a relay.
high pressure pump, solenoid or sensor in it.
accelerator pedal sensor.
MAF sensor (if that happenes only during acceleration).
MAP sensor.
EGR valve or something around it.
wastegate valve (it's on the turbo itself)
crankshaft sensor.
camshaft position sensor, if you have it.
or it can be just about wires. you may be loosing electricity from time to time.

as this happenes only occasionaly, it will be very hard to detect.
