Default 2002 ltd crd turbo problem

I experienced a whistling noise from the turbo for one day, had a look to underside but couldn't see anything that would be causing a problem. I went for a drive and while accelerating heard a pfft noise and the turbo stopped working (sounded like a pipe had come off). The car still drives but have no turbo. have had a look in the engine bay and at the underside of the car again and can't see where it could all be coming from.

Could anyone help please

Thankyou

Jack the car up at the front, take the under tray off, get right underneath the car until you can see up behind the engine...The turbo is there. You should be able to see if any of the pipes have come off.

Could also be a split pipe anywhere between the air filter/turbo/intercooler/intake manifold which might not be noticible unless the engine is revved to get boost pressure up.

Thanks for your response it's now with some friendly technicans who are going to perform a smoke test on it to see where the pressure is being lost from.
