Default 2002 Voyager 2.5 CRD Turbo issues

Hi!

I'm having some engine problems with my 2002 Voyager. The car shuts down every time I give too much gas above 2500rpm so I went to the local chrysler dealer who told me that the turbo broke down and I believe he disabled it, so I can drive my car safely without it shutting down every now and then (it already led to some dangerous situations on the highway lol).
I would like to know what my options are.. Installing a new chrysler turbo is waaay to expensive (around 1700 euros, the car is just not worth that investment), I can't find any second hand one's in the local area and I would like to keep this car. Can I simply remove the turbo or can I install an aftermarket one? If so, what kind of turbo can I install? I cannot find any info on the net about the 2.5CRD's turbo..

Thx in advance!!

How has he disabled it? I have never had a turbo fail on these I guess that's why you can't find on second hand.

I don't know how he disabled it, I only know that I don't hear/feel it anymore and the car accelerates a lot slower lol

You should get another opinion. A failed turbo should not cause a car to cut out. Even if it is the turbo you can get rebuild kits for them off eBay. Just take yours off and see what model it is. Your engine is NOT a chrysler it is a VM Motori and even they do not make turbo's, they bulk buy on contract. If you are not mechanically minded there are plenty of companies that specialise in turbo rebuilds.

Once again though get another opinion and try and retrieve the OBD codes to see what the ECU has detected.
