2008 T&C, Rear Fold Down Seat
One of the two "stow-a-way" back most seats in my T & C has developed a problem. It will come up and lock into place, and also the seat will fold down flush with the floor.
Problem is that the two "legs" won't fold down and remain flush in the stow away position. The 2 "legs" stick up about 3". They will fold into place if something reasonably heavy, like a light suitcase, is placed on top of them, but as soon as they're free to do so, they pop back up.
I took it to the dealer and the answer was, I don't recall which, either that they had no idea what caused the problem, or maybe they just quoted me a rediculous price to diagnose and repair. (I don't recall which, it's been a couple of years.)
Like I said, the locking mechanism works fine in the upright position, and I can't see anything broken or out of place. Not I really know what I'm looking for.
A reasonable fix, a mystery, or should I just learn to live with it?
Thanks,
Rob C.
