2010 Voyager headlights
We have a Australian released 2010 Chrysler Grand Voyager and have never been happy with the quality of light from the headlights. We haven’t had to do a great deal of country driving at night so it has never been much of an issue but now that we are travelling on the open road at night more often it is a noticible issue.
Has anyone successfully upgraded their head light globes to something that throws good quality light? Have been toying with the idea of HID or LED however I don’t believe they throw light further than the halogens just a brighter spread of light. Have also looked at the crystal visions but animals don’t seem to be as visible in the white light compared to halogens. Have also been thinking of modding H9’s to fit the H11 holders. Has anyone tried that?
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

So I tried polishing the lenses and fit new H11 globes.
As the lenses were slightly hazy I thought polishing them may help. Used cut and polish and removed all haziness and they look almost new now.
Fit new globes one side at a time and the new did look ever so slightly brighter.
Got on the highway last night and to my disappointment there is has been no improvement.

Well this hasn’t got any relies so not sure if this will help anyone else but will post just in case.
I purchased a pair of H9’s and modified them to fit the H11 sockets. This is easily done by shaving one of the metal tabs and also one of the key ways inside the plug. As the H9 is a 65w globe, compared to the 55w H11, they do produce more light.
The lows are are a little brighter and extend maybe a meter or two further. The highs are definitely better, spread is better and distance also.
Was a cheap mod which has improved the lights slightly. Wouldn’t rave about it but any extra light is very welcomed.
