ABS light not coming on....
Hi all. Not had the car long and I could do with some help if possible.
Grand voyager 2002 2.5crd
Failed it's not due to the abs light not coming on at start up. Plugged in a scanner and found the n/s wheel speed sensor was not working so replaced that (my brother in law is a fitter thankfully!) and then pulled the cluster out thinking that a bulb had been removed due to the cost of a new sensor.
It seems that there is no bulb and now I am stumped as to why the light is not coming on.
Hope someone can help, I love the car and right now with no MOT it's not looking good.
Many thanks
Martin

The ABS light is on the instrument cluster - in the middle I think.
The lamp is turned on/off by a data message from the ABS controller to the instrument cluster over the PCI bus. I'm not sure if it is a unpluggable bulb or an LED in the panel as I've never pulled one apart.
You can do a self test on the cluster by turning the ignition off, pressing the milage reset button and keeping it held while the ignition is turned back on. This should light up all the bulbs

Hi Richard,
Many thanks for that, I will give it a go in the morning. i have attached an image of the back of the cluster, apparently the abs light/bulb location is just to the right of the harness socket, but no bulb is visible!
Starting to get worries about harness/electrical issues! But thank you for your quick reply.

Hi Richard,
I checked it this morning as you instructed and there is no light from the ABS warning lamp during the test.
I don't suppose you have any further rays of light do you!
Many thanks anyway

Hi Richard,
Strangely enough, we took the cluster apart to check the feed through it yesterday afternoon and found that one of the previous owners had actually taken it apart previously and stuck tape over the ABS light.....It never ceases to amaze me how some people will compromise the safety of others and their family for the sake of a new wheel speed sensor.
At least the problem has been solved and the car can go through its MOT. Thank you very much for your assistance.

The previous owner of my car did similar thing, but he removed the led bulb. Doe's someone know any details of the led bulb? I assume it's 12v. I found similar size and shape led bulbs in my local shop, but I'm not sure about the voltage.
Thanks.
Thanks.
