Default BCM module???

Following on from my thread about the alarm. It's now not going off, but have discovered nothing on the instrument panel works.

Have found a site decribing what the BCM does, and this is the list. But some of the stuff works... so now we're confused. (highlighted stuff is what's not working)

The body control module provides the following features:
  • automatic door locks
  • battery protection ???
  • CCD radio
  • chimes
  • compass/mini-trip support Don't have
  • courtesy lamps
  • BCM diagnostic support
  • door lock inhibit
  • headlamp time delay ???
  • ignition key lamp
  • illuminated entry
  • instrument panel dimming
  • mechanical instrument cluster support
  • power door locks (with/without remote keyless entry)
  • sliding door memory lock
  • vehicle theft security system (VTSS) Alarm that was going off, now not...?
  • windshield wipers / washers (front and rear)
This would then suggest to us it's not the BCM??? Any other ideas? (Just so I cen look up & get an idea of costs, due to the other bits that need doing too...)

Thanks

You are WAY OVERTHINKING here. First step is power and ground circuits to the CLUSTER....

Its Just my way of thinking.....But I would start over with a NEW battery...

Then get the wiring diagram for the cluster, and check powers and grounds.

Check ALL fuses in the underhood as well as under dash boxes...(What year is this anyway....Hmmm....Just a thought...but look at the "HAZARD" fuse in the underhood box.....)

Make sure none of the grounds came loose while you were playing with the battery......

Hi
Then it's not likely the BCM, I would follow the steps above first. Have you tried leaving battery disconnected for ten minutes?
