Chrysler 2000 Voyager stopping engine dies climbing Hills
Hello, I own a Chrysler 2000 Grand Voyager. I live in Australia and I have owned this vehicle since 2010. It has been modified with a rear ramp entry to carry my wheelchair and me as a passenger while being driven by one of my carers. About once a month I travel from the Tablelands down to Cairns. The problem is coming back home the car has to ascend the Kuranda Range. This is approximately 16 km of mountainous winding road where the car is constantly under load while driving up the range. The problem I am having is on the last two trips and approximately at the halfway point the car loses power and slowly comes to a stop. When the car comes to a stop it will not rev and then starts to rough idle until the engine finally snuffs out. If the car is started after a couple of minutes it will run at a rough idle and then snuff out again. If the car is left sitting for approximately 10 minutes or so it will start again and actually rev up. After this we can then proceed. This is happened twice and in approximately the same spot. I'm becoming worried because it is becoming an extremely bad safety issue for me. I have asked the mechanic about it and because nothing shows up on the scan test knowing where to start investigating is the real life in book stop
if anybody has encountered this problem or may know what is causing the problem I would be truly grateful and appreciative of your help.
Thanks to all
Regards
Mark
