Chrysler voyager gearbox oil
Hi all and thanks for looking I've just bought a 2000 chrysler voyager 2.5 td and am about to change the gearbox oil I've got some 10w40 fully synthetic motor bike oil nicking around and was wondering if that would be okay in the gearbox as I keep getting told that it needs 10w40 fully synthetic engine oil the oil I have is shell ultra advance 4t fully synthetic I no its different to engine oil as it does wet clutches engine lubrication and motor bike gears but is it okay to use in my gearbox any thoughts would be great cheers ben

The viscosity may be the same, but I doubt if the oil is the same specification as car oil (not a bike person) but bike engines are a bit different I would expect them to have different lubrication needs and additives.
Have a look here for general gearbox oil info
