put a battery in replace your mulit function switch thats for the ghosting of your wipers, And alternators on chryslers hardly ever go bad like one in a blue moon. Been working on chrysler for 11 years now and only replaced 2 for being bad. Noise yes installed wrong yes not just not working at all. Chrysler alts are pulsewith modulated in other words they dont stay in full feld all the time.

I have a 2005 Chrysler T&C that has the same symptoms. After ~ 4 months of being brand new, the car battery died suddenly - nothing was left on etc. I jumped it and started fine. Over the next 2 months it intermittently would not start (say 4 times). Putting a voltmeter to the battery it would read low ~10.8V. When jumped it would read fine - about 14V while running. I had the battery load tested at a batterystore (I physically carried the battery into the store)- they said it was good. I bought a new one anyway(tired of the problem). This was good for about 8 months - back to the same crap. My suspicionis that the good ol T&C gets into some weird mode where it draws power - not sure to what - but I have no other explanation.

Since we have not heard back from Johnny, does this mean he has found a solution? I have a 99T&C with similar issue.Electrionics (radio, lights, etc) seem to to function / recieve juice and when turn the ignition over I get Click, Click, anda start on the 3rd try.In searching, I ran into thisthread - thestarter plunger and worn or corroded Nippondenso starter solenoid contacts seems like a plausible solution. Any comments / thoughts?? (full disclosure - van would not start at all today, 3rd time not a charm - electronics and click happesn though).

need a starter or if u can repair it do that. if u dont know about the inner workings of a starter then might be better to just replace it only 2 or 3 bolts and away u go.

 

Thanks CT, appreciate your feedback. I know just enough to be dangerous - so install by someone else is the way to go. Any ballpark estimates on the cost (part / labor)?

 

depends on where u go for that a dealer would give u oooo 450 maybe also depends on if they have a reman starter or a brand new one. And labor time will also be based off where ua re at in city would be higher. call around see what u get. If u live in the ATL area i would do it for ya cheaper than at my dealer =)
