Default Engine Light.

Hi all,

We seem to have developed a problem with our 2.8 GV..

When we start the car their is a tone and at first it wouldn't change up the gears, I turned the car off and back on and it seems to be changing gears now but there is an orange engine light on....

Is there anyway to work out what's wrong?

Thanks .

Search on the forum for key dance, it's a way of displaying certain fault codes on the dash by turning the ignition on and off a few times.

Regards

Sounds like a solenoid pack issue. This is the part that makes that buzzing sound whenever you go into gear from park. But as stated above, check your codes first. Low fluid may also be a problem, or the low fluid sensor wire could be open, from a poor electrical connection on the sensor. Check the fluid level, remove the wire terminal and clean the wire connectors and the sensor terminals as well. Then try driving again.

Hi Merle,
If you remember this was where I was at with mine. Hope you get sorted before a new gearbox.
Cheers

Merle,

In case you have not found out your OBDII engine light code yet using the key dance:
https://www.chryslerforum.com/forum/...de-tips-20206/

If you clear the code and it does not return, I would not worry too much...but would do basic checks like trans fluid level and any signs of damage to the harness and connectors at the trans solenoid assembly.

Hope yours is all clear anyway.
