Fitting a second thermostat...
#52
I have --eventually---got around to fitting a 'second' t-stat------I bought the new stat during last summer.
Apart from travelling without the auxiliary heater running all the time----the fuel consumption (on the computer) has gone from 28 ish to mid 30s and the transmission seems to be smoother changing ?? ---Temp was going over half-way so I took it out today to check it-----I put it in backwards------We are about to go out again so I am hoping it will be fine now
What a fantastic/easy mod---thanks for posting it

Main benefit is that you don't need to replace a faulty standard stat.
The original stat is located on an impossible spot and is very expensive which makes replacement a major pain in the *** and wallet.
If/when the original stat is stuck wide open (mostly the case) this is a €15,- solution in stead of an at least €250,- repair.
