Default Front brakes

Morning gents,

My front brakes make a terrable noise amd i get a slight judder every now and then from the near side, so its time to change them, still a good bit of meat on the pads and disc but think they have worn unevenley?

I was thinking mintex as know they are good and ive used them on my cars before, but any one got any other reccomrndations? And costs?

Cheers

Sounds like you've got an unworn edge on your disc where the pad skids over it instead of wearing it away.. Can be removed with a hand grinder then finish off with a hand file. That's unless you've got a metal turning lathe that is.

If you live in the north east, I'll skim them FOC for you.

Thanks for your replies gents, there is defernatly a lip on the disc both side so i new that was the noise, you feel like ou wantto be swallowed up by a big hole every time i touch the breaks!!!

Im actually in the southeast but thank you for the offer, i think im going to order mintex disc and pads, just to be safe, they come highy recommended.

Ive got a 2 ton trolly jack and 2ton axel stands, will they be ok to use? I haven had to jack her up before.

Thanks

Thanks
- can't see a jacking problem - per axle
- make sure you 'chock' both the remaining contact wheels
- - try your wind down spare wheel before you start
- - and give the cable a lashing with light slip while you can get at it

I've just changed my discs and pads on a 2007 GV. I used Mintex pads with MTEC drilled discs. Great set up that stop the car on a 2p piece!... But you have to be carful when pushing the pistons back in as they can be brittle and crack as mine did on O/S/R
