Default Front Parking Brake Cable Replacement - ARGH

Hi all,

Newbie here...I have a 2006 Town & Country that has almost hit 100,000 miles, and of course the problems start to crop up. One that I am unsuccessfully trying to tackle myself is replacing the front parking brake cable.

I am totally lost as to how to reset the automatic tensioner in the front lever. I cannot get the new cable to wind all the way to where it needs to attach to the lever, even if the intermediate connection is not connected.

I have not yet found a video or picture that gives me any assistance either. Is there anyone on this board that has any expertise, or can share a picture or video of what I can do?

I already fixed the passenger side rear door actuator (easy) so I thought I was on a roll. I guess not

Thanks in advance!

I've still to renew my handbrake cables, shoes and top hat discs as yet and look into this handbrake auto adjuster. But will put on here when job done. So anyway have you checked You Tube.

Goggsy, I think the OP is talking about the American style parking brake, which has a different mechanism to our handbrake.
