I think for the very reason Merlin has given you....because they don't do it, they simply fit the unit. It doesn't make commercial sense for them to waste time trying to faff around with something they know full well is just going to fail again. The reason these things fail is because the seals fail. As they are sealed units bleeding them is just a short term solution. Ultimately both you and I are going to have to shell out for the replacements. We should just be grateful that we have the technical know how to change them. The avergae Chrysler owner will have to pay parts AND labour.

Would love to but too many kids and too little time means its highly unlikely. My weekends are generally 100% filled with take this one to football, that one to ballet, fix the car, paint the fence, fix this do that.......you know how it is.

Trying to find time just to spend with the wife is hard enough and as such she would take a dim view of me suggesting a "car" get together. After 25 years of her having to put up with racing car/motorcyle meets, bits of engine all over the place etc etc even suggesting going to the Beaulieu car museum takes some serious negotiation.

I Think for next year you should do it in the summer and all come to the southwest and have a holiday at the same time, I will meet up with you all them.

sounds like the alternator ,probably the diode pack giving up,new alternator or you be able to get new brushes and diode pack which will be cheaper if you can find the parts
