Angry Intermittent start problems - 2010 Town & Country

My wife has had a number of occasions now where the van won't start.

In the past we had some issues where turning the fob didn't try to start, but after either removing the fob or the shift lever has resolved it, this is different.

This time, it sort of "clicks" like it is wanting to start, but it doesn't start. If we jump-start it, it is fine, so it doesn't seem like the keyfob is the issue. However, I took the van in to an auto parts store, thinking they would be quick to sell me something, but they ran a battery/electrical system check and the battery is fine, the charging system seems to be working, and couldn't recommend anything. It' even stranger because it starts up just fine at home after sitting for overnight or longer, yet when she leaves the store or wherever to come back home, that is when the problem is happening. You would think that it would be even more 'topped-off' at that point than after sitting for the evening.

My wife is frustrated, understandably, and I am not sure where to turn next. Any thoughts?

Hello,
We suggest having your dealer inspect this concern if you have not done so already. We do understand your vehicle is out of warranty but they would be in the best position to properly diagnose your vehicle.

Almost always [elimination] battery !

Relay + selanoid a+o infrequent use are the main other 3.
You.
Already know this because it starts with a good battery (jumper leads). Free or paid for analysis can cost as much as a new battery. Borrow neibours 'known to be good' and test your own words my friend.

I posted this in summer 2017: http://www.chryslerforum.co.uk/topic/5228-battery-drain/

Default It's most likely the starting Relay.

We had exact starting issues, replaced FOB, no change, replaced fob switch, no change. finally replaced starter relay and that solved the problem. Perfection Tire mechanics figured it out, and I believe it was about $30 for part. Apparantly Chrysler knows the relays are not heavy duty enough and when being replaced they put one in that is heavier duty. good luck@
