Default key snapped in the ignition

What sort of materials do chrylser use I turned the key in the ignition and it snapped. Unfortunately its only one I have. Guy at Timpsons made a new blade took him literally 15 seconds but said to have a chip put into new key would cost me exactly £40 and he didnt have one in stock and can order one

That stubby bit can still start the car can you believe it but it cant unlock the steering. So I first turn ignition 1 notch with Timpsons blade then use stubby key to start the car

Anyone know of a way of transferring chip onto the key I got cut today

Open the black plastic cover and there will be quite small rectangular "chip", do the same with the replacement key cover and swap the chip to the new key.
