Default Key stuck in ignition switch

I like many others had this problem, if you are at all handy you can fix this for less than $10 and a few hours of your time, removing the dash panels is easy thanks to a YouTube video, took me half an hour, the problem is the micro switch that activates the solenoid to allow the removal of the key, you can buy a new switch on ebay for about $7-50, to mount the new switch drill a hole in the plastic near the activation button on the shift lever, don't use too long a screw as you may stop the shift lever from working, position the new switch so that the shift button pushes on the arm of the switch, cut the wires from the old switch and connect to the spade terminals, use the common and the normally open connections, that will fix the problem, see attached photos for more information.

Get this one, 5x long arm

Make sure silver button on shift lever closes switch

Hello, I also have the problem, that I can't get the key out of the ignition key hole on my Grand Voyager from 2006. Could you tell, which is the model that you picture here ?

Thank's a lot.

problem solved. Today I received the instructions manual which I bought from eBay. So I was able to figure out that I had to set the key on the second last position. I always turned it one position further to the left (the manual calls it the A-C-A position), where it drains the battery.
maybe this information can be helpful for someone.
