Default loosing coolant

2005 T&C Touring, bought it 15 months ago and notied that it was low on antifreeze. Before I left the dealership, I asked them to check it out. They topped it off and did a pressure check and found no leaks. Now a little over a year later, I noticed that the antifreeze is low again, below the cold mark on the tank. I'm not seeing any drips anywhere however when I first start it up, it would sound like water was pouring out somwhere. This would only happen once at the first start. Any thoughts on where the coolant is going? Is it normal to loose some in over a year? Anyone know of any TSB's on this?

hey bud it is normal to lose a little anti freeze overa years time.you need to open your hood more!...but if you have a rear ac unit in your van there is a recall of the rear ac/heater tubes.#RC-F01-06.i would call your dealership if you have rear ac and heater.the heater hoses are rotting out causing small amounts of coolant to be lost.have good holidays!moe

I have been watching it, just wanted to see how low it would go in a given amount of time as well as how long it would take the dealer to notice it when they supposedly give it the once over at each oil change. Thanks for the heads up on the recall.

Do you have a pressure tester, so you can pressure ck the cooling system? If not, have a shop or someone that owns one, to pressure ck the cooling system.

As an update, took the van in for the coolant leak, found it was the water pump which was covered under warranty.
