well done! Glad you got it sorted.

As for a code reader, you should be able to pick up an autocom cdp clone from china for about £100. You'll need a laptop or PC as well though.

It's all about design. I changed the front n/s strut on my Ford Mondeo many years ago in about an hour with a second-hand unit from a scrapper for fifteen quid. No spring compressor was needed. Four bolts held it on and I spent more time fiddling with the brake assy. than the strut itself.

I reckon that a straight strut to strut swap would be easy in a couple of hours,
A 13mm ratchet ring would also help (but not essential)

Replacing my front struts on Sebring 2004. Had ordered spring compressor but actually too thick to get in between the coils. Would anybody know a spring compressor with small enough clearance ?
