Hi All,Im the newbie here name is Raven and I am thinking of purchasing a T & C mini van,I have done some reading on them and also did a test drive,Im looking at a 2002 model year.
Now here is where I would like some input from you guys. (1) are they dependable? (2)heard that the transmissions were weak. (3)any one thing that stands out about this vehicle that you think I should know?
Any and all input will not only be appreciated but will be used in my determination in a purchase....Thanks for any and all input.....Raven

 

hi raven,the trans problems are from the bad rap they gotten in the past.i hardly see that many trans problems.the big thing with the car is noise in the front end over bumps.but the repair is simple.outside of that i say enjoy !moe.

 

First off Thanks for the reply and info "Moe",much appreciated ,So a 2002 T&C would be new enough to be beyond the tranny problems of the past?.
I would like to know a little more about the frontend noise you spoke of? can you elaborate a little more, also what is the easy fix you spoke of?and last is there a very big differance between the T&C and the Dodge Grand Caravan?.

yes the trans problems have been addressed.the noise is swaybar links and bushings.appox 250.00 parts and labor.T&Care upgraded caravans.moe

 

OK Moe,Thanks for your help,I went ahead and purchased a 2001 T&C Limited and love it,It was a one owner and in great shape,is it true that the 3.8 engine has a timing chain and gears instead of the belt.....Thanks again,your info has been very helpfull...Raven
