Default Oil change notification, is there more to it?

Hi, I have 2016 T&C. Recently the oil change notification came on. I change oil and filter by myself every approx. 5k miles. The notification came on for the first time after driving 60k miles. I have never had to reset the notification after oil changes before. I am just wondering if there is more to that notification, than just time and miles. Somewhere I was reading about oil quality sensor plus some smart oil change determination taking into account driving conditions and other factors (pressure, ...). Not sure how much of it is actually true. Could the notification point to some other problem that is going on in the oil system? Pump, oil sensor failure, ... Thank you.

Either there is a problem with the oil change indicator or someone has been doing the reset procedure, possibly by accident.
From the owner's manual:
Your vehicle is equipped with an engine oil change indicator system. The odometer display will toggle between CHAngE and Oil for approximately 12 seconds, after a single chime has sounded, to indicate the next scheduled oil change interval. The engine oil change indicator system is duty cycle-based, which means the engine oil change interval may fluctuate dependent upon your personal driving style.

Unless reset, this message will continue to display each time you turn the ignition switch to the ON/RUN position. To reset the oil change indicator system (after performing the scheduled maintenance), perform the following steps.

1. Turn the ignition switch to the ON/RUN position (do not start the engine).

2. Fully push the accelerator pedal, slowly, three times within 10 seconds.

3. Turn the ignition switch to the OFF position.

NOTE: If the indicator message illuminates when you start the engine, the oil change indicator system did not reset. If necessary, repeat these steps.
